Christmas Gifts For Photographers
Christmas gifts for photographers, yes we like to get some.
A photographer will like any gift they get, but they’ll much prefer to get a photographic gift.
It doesn’t have to be expensive, not all Christmas gifts for photographers are.
If it adds something to their arsenal, then it will be cherished.
There’s always some photographic gear that a photographer hasn’t got, or is in need of replacing.
Also, there’s a steady flow of upgraded equipment coming onto the market.
Just do research a see that what you intend buying is wanted.
Cameras among the most cherished Christmas gifts for photographers
There’s a vast amount of photographic gear available to those who love photography.
However of all the available Christmas gifts for photographers, none is more fundamental than a camera.
It’s an item every photographer already has, so check what they have before buying a new one.
Most photographers will have a camera with interchangeable lenses.
The lenses they have will have cost a lot of money, and will only work with certain cameras.
Buy a camera that can use their lenses, and is an upgrade to the camera they have.
Any other camera will be of little use, unless they can exchange it for a suitable one.
A lens would also be a great gift to get, but it must suit the camera they use. It should also be one they want and don’t have.
Here’s a few of the popular Cameras at present.
I use affiliate links on this website, and there are some on this page.

Camera Bags make great photography gifts
I got a gift of a Camera Bag last Christmas, and I absolutely love it.
Again check if the person you’re shopping for has one or needs one.
The are different types of bags, to suit different tastes and requirements.
Some photographers have a lot of equipment, and other have much less.
A photographer with a lot of gear might like/need a backpack to take everything.
Someone with less gear might only need a shoulder bag to fit a camera and one or two lenses.
There are direct links to some bags below.

Buy Lighting as a photographer’s Christmas gift
Taking a photograph is recording light reflected from something and recording it onto film or a sensor.
Sometimes the available natural light is too dim to record what you want, so you need to add extra lighting.
Most cameras have a built in flash light, but there’s much better available.
From Flashguns through Led Lighting to Studio Lighting, there’s plenty of variety.
Ask the person what they would like or need. A surprise is just a nuisance if it’s of no use.
Check out the lighting links below.
Tripods are very useful
Not all photographers use Tripods, so don’t assume if they haven’t got one, that they want one.
A street photographer, for instance, would never use one.
Macro photographers, landscape photographers, astro photographers and product photographers do tend to use them quite often.
It may be better to establish that a photographer does want a Tripod rather than surprising them with one.
However if desired, one would be a great present.
See some Tripods below.

Other items suitable as Christmas gifts for photographers
There are a whole lot of other gear available in Camera Shops that make great Christmas gifts for photographers.
Most photographers have room for some filters of one sort or another.
They include Polarizing Filters, Ultra Violet Filters and Neutral Density Filters.
If you want to buy one for a photographer friend, find out what one they’d like and what size(s) would suit.
Teleconverters can extend the range of a lens, generally by an extra 40% or double.
Once again it’s important to get the right Teleconverter for the lens.
Many photographers are now adding Drones to their kit, which add an extra dimension to their photographic possibilities.
This is only a selection of what’s available and useful to photographers. To have a look for something else just click here.
Other gifts photographers might find useful
The items discussed so far are usually found in a standard Camera Store.
Some other useful gifts can be found elsewhere.
Photo editing software may be sold by some Camera Stores, or bought direct from the makers site.
These are two worthy alternatives to the market leader, and they’re not sold by subscription. You buy them outright.
Most photographers also like to have a website to show their portfolio.
Some make do with having an account on a photo sharing site.
Most prefer to have their very own site, personalised as much as possible.
There’s even greater scope for a personal photographic website with a hosting account with Bluehost.
